Patient Reviews/Testimonials

  • "I started taking my two week old son to Dr. Hayes and Dr. Thad when he was having gas problems. They were so patient with him as they did an assessment, explaining to me everything they were looking for so I felt comfortable with them adjusting my baby. You can tell by their demeanor and patience that they have children of their own. They were so sweet to him while solving problems that we could not solve with any amount of medicine. Almost immediately, we started noticing a major difference in my son’s ability to pass gas and bowel movements pain free - such a relief. He became regular and a much more pleasant baby to care for after we began going. I would recommend to all parents to take their little ones to Dr. Hayes and Dr. Thad, especially babies with colic, reflux or gas problems. My husband and I also began to get adjusted soon after we took our son. They were able to help me bounce back from pregnancy and my husband address the aches and pains that come with having a new baby. Their initial assessment gave both of us more comfort in knowing what they were addressing for each of us and having goals to achieve in order to be pain free. They also have a wonderful family plan that helps us afford being able to all be adjusted. I would recommend them to anyone!"

  • "I cannot recommend Continuum Chiropractic enough. My entire experience was very relaxing, and I had great service from the minute I walked in the front door. It just so happened that I had the opportunity to meet both doctors, and they are very easy to talk to, very friendly and professional. The office is new, clean and has state-of-the-art equipment. Dr. Thad performed my exam. He did several tests that enabled him to assess the root cause of my long term neck issues that I have been dealing with for years. Hands down one of the the best Drs I’ve visited because of his thoroughness, ability to explain the cause of my issues and effectiveness of treatment for the adjustments. You end up learning a lot about how your body works, and how you need to treat it beyond your visit. With Dr. Thad’s assistance I believe I am on the road to recovery and actually looking forward to my next visit."

  • "Dr. Hayes and Dr. Thad create a welcoming and caring environment for chiropractic care. The new office is clean and spacious, and the doctors have an extremely high quality and standard of care. My husband and I both regularly see Dr. Hayes and Dr. Thad and have seen great improvement in our spinal health- my neck and shoulder has never felt better! The doctors work with you to create a comprehensive care plan, which even addressed my frequent sinus problems. They are GREAT and you should schedule a visit today!!"

Benefits of Chiropractic Care

One of the most common reasons people go to a Greenville chiropractor is to alleviate back pain. Whether you work on your feet or at a desk, daily life takes a toll on your spine. Poor spinal alignment causes pain and affects your posture, but regular chiropractic care can help immensely.

Chiropractors treat many different spinal disorders, from back sprains to sciatica. If you are experiencing musculoskeletal or nerve pain, you may have one of the following spinal conditions:

  • Coccydynia is pain in the coccyx, or tailbone, often caused or made worse by sitting or frequently riding a bike.
  • Cervicogenic headache is characterized by pain at the back of the head or at the temples, and is caused by referred neck pain.
  • Herniated disc causes pain when a vertebral disc presses on a nerve root and typically occurs in the lower back or neck.
  • Sciatica is characterized by moderate to severe pain that travels below the knee of one leg. It occurs when the sciatic nerve becomes compressed or irritated.
  • Myofascial pain occurs when pressure on sensitive (trigger) points in your muscles causes aching pain in various parts of the body.

In addition to treating spinal disorders, there is significant evidence to suggest that chiropractic therapy can alleviate numerous other health problems including hypertension, ear infections, neurological problems, headaches, insomnia, and extremity conditions. This contributes greatly to your overall wellness.

Specialty Chiropractic Techniques and Treatments

There are many different techniques that may be used in chiropractic treatments. Here are just a few:

  • Spinal Mobilization
  • Spinal mobilization is a gentler, low-force technique that employs slow movement to mobilize a joint. There are various methods used within this approach. The Activator Method uses a spring-loaded tool that provides a low-force impact to the patient's spine and/or joints. The Toggle Drop is a method in which the chiropractor presses down on the patient's affected area at the same time that a section of the drop table falls, using gravity to make the adjustment.
  • Pediatric Chiropractic Care
  • Many people are surprised when they learn that chiropractic care is safe and effective for children, even newborn babies. Birth can be traumatic for babies and puts a great deal of strain on the baby's head and neck, causing misalignment in the spine. As they grow, they often fall and tumble as they learn to crawl and then walk, causing further misalignments. The sooner these structural problems are addressed, the easier they are to correct. Children respond much more quickly to chiropractic treatment because their bodies have not yet adapted to poor spinal structure, unlike most adults.
  • Chiropractic can help foster healthy development in children. Parents often bring their children to the chiropractor for allergies, asthma, colic, ear infections, learning disabilities, and ADD/ADHD. If a child is often sick, regular chiropractic care can help improve their immune system over time.
  • Pediatric chiropractic requires specialty training, which both doctors at Continuum Chiropractic have completed. For babies and young children, the process for chiropractic care is very different than when treating older children and adults. Obviously, far less pressure is used on babies and small children, and there is a focus on key areas of the spine that become misaligned during the birth process.
  • The Webster Technique
  • The Webster Technique is a chiropractic method recommended for pregnant women with babies in the breech position. This method detects sacral subluxations and gently corrects them, and breech positions often correct themselves following the application of this technique. The idea is that by properly aligning the pelvis and sacrum and removing tension, the fetus has more room to move and become properly positioned. Prenatal chiropractic care can also help restore proper nerve supply to the uterus, resulting in a less difficult and shorter labor, and relieving pain and nausea throughout the pregnancy. While the Webster Technique is recommended for women with breech babies, all pregnant women can benefit from prenatal chiropractic care.
